How to set up PXT for your phone

Setting up PXT for the Vodafone network.

If you are experiencing any problems setting up PXT (Picture Messaging) on your phone, follow this simple guide:

screenshot1. Go to the Vodafone wireless data portal website (opens in a new window)

2. Select your phone model *

3. Click ’setup your mobile phone for MMS’ (Multimedia Messaging Service) **

4. Simply follow the instructions, and Vodafone will guide you through the configuration process

After you enter your mobile phone number and a security code, you will be sent a TXT message embedded with all the configurations to set up PXT. Enter the pin number, allow for the settings to be added, and restart your phone. ***

If you don’t see this you should find a page which has a space for you to enter you number. Fill out the security field (with the number/letter combinations) and then enter your mobile number and click send.

What will happen now is a small pop up box will open to confirm your mobile number and once you have done so it will direct you to a new page. On this page you should find a four digit number in bold. E.g. Your Pin number is 1234. If you don’t have to enter a pin don’t panic, not every phone requires one, so just keep following the instructions on that page.

What this means is that Vodafone will simply sent you a text message with all the settings to allow you to use the PXT service. Once you receive this text message enter the pin number that you are given, allow for the settings to be added, restart your phone and PXT should be fully functional and set for your phone.

Unfortunately there have been some instances where the Vodafone network is too busy and you may not receive the text message straight away, if this is the case just wait for a while and maybe try again later on in the day. This usually resolves the problem.

Notes

* If you have a parallel imported phone and/or your phone is not on the list, try selecting a similar model.

** If you do not see the ’setup your mobile phone for MMS’ option, your phone is unfortunately not PXT compatible with the Vodafone network.

*** If you do not receive a TXT message, it is due to an overload in the Vodafone network. Try at another time of the day to resolve this problem.
